How often do you visit the Orting Bakery?

Delectibly Sweet!

The aroma of freshly baked bread wafting through the air penetrates your nose as you walk to the door. Your mouth begins to water as you think about a still warm maple bar slathered in icing melting in your mouth, or their delicious garlic bread as it explodes with taste on your tongue.

Once inside, the employees greet you with a warm smile and a friendly hello, and they are poised to help you find the perfect treat! The bakery is the perfect place to meet for coffee and visit with friends in the morning, after work, or on the weekends. Parents often swing by for a treat with their kids after doing business with the nearby chiropractor, post office, or public library, and visitors take a break from walking the 15-mile Foothills Trail (foothills of Mt. Rainier) that passes through Orting and right by the bakery. On hot days the vanilla-chocolate swirl, soft-serve ice cream is a must!

There are delicious samples of the daily bread specials and sweet delights sitting atop the pastry case, tempting you to try them all, oh my! The overwhelming selection of newly baked artisan breads, pastries, cakes, donuts, and pies draws your eyes to the display cases, and you are now faced with the ultimate decision; will it be the coffee cake, the maple bar, or the enormous brownie with a thick layer of frosting and sprinkles carefully decorating the top? How about one of each?

One case is devoted to donuts, muffins, and the like, while the other displays their unforgettable brownies, special cakes, pies, and specialty treats! But no matter what tempts you in the display case, make sure to pick up at least one loaf of specialty bread. Once you have chosen which delectable treats to indulge in, you have the option of sitting outside on the bench or at the quaint little table and chair arrangements, at the bar along the window, or inside at tables for two, four, and more.

Nestled in the rustic town of Orting, Washington, which was created by ancient lahars from Mt. Rainier, the charming atmosphere of this small town bakery consists of various pictures of current and historic Orting that are sprinkled on the walls. This scratch bakery uses the best ingredients and they bake fresh daily. In keeping with the theme of community, her children established an Orting Bakery Facebook page for staff and customers alike.

The staff at Orting Bakery absolutely love crafting special orders and wedding cakes, and they provide coffee, espresso, tea, and Italian sodas, as well as bottled juices and sodas. Lisa Goff, the owner, staffs the bakery with family and residents of Orting in order to maintain that hometown charm.

It’s no wonder they proudly finished in the top five for Best Bakeries in Western Washington in 2010! The delightful treats, the friendly staff, and the hometown atmosphere make it almost impossible to walk past the door. From a decadent truffle to a fresh loaf of sourdough bread, with everything the Orting Bakery has to offer one would not expect anything less than spectacular!
